Luchin eats earth and worms and the poetic voice wants to help the child, that is free of poverty. A prayer is a prayer. In "Prayer to a Labrador," the poetic voice is addressed to the farmers, the peasants. The songs "Mobile Oil Special" and "I like students" are similar because they both talk about student revolutions. The two songs celebrate students and student movements, supporting students. In Chile, Chileans say paco to the police / carabineros and a guanaco is an animal similar to the llama.   Patricio Manns was surprised that Bob Dylan has received the Nobel Peace Prize but thought that it would open many possibilities for others like him. Especially people who wrote music so that it could also be considered poetry. I think music can be considered poetry and in my eyes a lot of country music singers actually seem to me like they are writing poetry and not just music. I do think Bob Dylan did deserve to win the Nobel Peace Prize. Patricio Manns was stunned by Bob Dylans Nobel Peace Prize because for him it was never a thought that he would be rewarded with that. The American Dream of Patricio Manns tells a story about Chile. In the song “ I hang the rifle and celebrate it, ” means that the war is over and now they have peace. They hang their weapons because they are already free and they are masters of others also they won. It ’ s a joyful song, and the celebration metaphorically shows the end of the battle.

Violeta Parra fue una cantadora y folclorista chilena. En sus poemas ella incluyo temas de la perdida, la muerte, y del amor. Mi favorita canci ó n de Violeta Parra fue “ Me gustan los estudiantes ” porque me gusta el mensaje que trae en el poema. En esta canci ó n, la voz po é tica le gustan los estudiantes porque luchan y no se quedan callados. En la canci ó n, los estudiantes no se asustan, son fuertes y son inteligentes. En la canci ó n los estudiantes marchan sobre ruinas con sus banderas y son admirados. Unas similares es en los ni ñ os que marchan en las ruinas, pero tal vez es el sentido que es similar. La canci ó n “ la jardinera, ” es dirigida a una persona que la voz po é tica amaba. La voz po é tica est á triste y quiere olvidarse de esta persona. En "Al centro de la injusticia," al centro de la injusticia se encuentra Chile porque hay mucha miseria.  

Luisa Valenzuela dice que se molesta cuando la gente dice que su literatura es surrealista. Valenzuela dice que considera la literatura latinoamericana realista en exceso. El concepto de la realidad en latinomenerica es muy diferente en de los Estados Unidos. . Sobre la política en su literatura, Valenzuela dijo que antes, ella nunca pensó en escribir sobre la política porque la mayoría de la gente no pensaba que era buena idea. Ahora, Valenzuela escribe sobre la política para entender lo que está pasando. En "Los censores," Juan consigue trabajo de censor para que pudiera tratar de sabotear el mecanismo. Está preocupado que su carta no va a llegar a Mariana y que tal vez algo le sucederá por culpa de él. Se postuló para tratar de interceptar su propia carta. A lo largo del cuento, Juan empieza a olvidarse de la noble misión que lo había llevado hasta las oficinas porque tiene la costumbre de hacer su trabajo. El cuento critica la censura. 

Salvador Allende era el presidente de Chile de 1970-1973. Allende fue el primero marxista para hacerse el presidente de un país latinoamericano. Él era un socialista. El golpe de estado en 1973 Augusto Pinochet asumió el poder un año después del golpe y formalmente asumiendo el poder al final de 1974. La gente fue animada a apoyar y demostrar sus sentimientos. Sin embargo, no al punto de muerte. Alleno "daba zapatos de niños pobres" y la gente alentadora para seguir apoyando a sus partidos. Habló claro contra su opposers y los trabajadores desfilaron por calles para mostrar su apoyo. El Blog Reading, sobre Eduardo Galeano, cuenta que él ha cambiado su opinión política izquierdista; parece más conservador que antes. Creo que es posible que, con el paisaje de los años, alguien podría ver cosas de manera diferente. Basada en la experiencia de vida y con más conocimientos del mundo, una posición podría cambiar.

Isabel Allende dice que los cuentos deber tener pasi ó n y que dicen la verdad sobre la vida. Ella escribe sobre los emociones, sue ñ os y temas de violencia o la justicia. Sobre los protagonistas, ella dice que deben que tener un coraz ó n apasionado, fuertes y que deben tener pasi ó n.   "Dos palabras," la protagonista, Belisa Crepusculario tiene esas caracter í sticas. Viviendo con hambre y fatigo, los doce a ñ os decide viajar en busca de una vida mejor. Pero ella sobrevivi ó el viaje dif í cil y una vida horrible. El coronel quiera ser presidente, y quer í a que Belisa le escribi ó un discurso. Ella lo ayudo. El cuento termina con Belisa regresando al Coronel despu é s que el Mulato va a buscarla para ayudar al Coronel olvidar las dos palabras que ella le dijo. Ella toma la mano del Coronel y sus ojos se calman. Creo que las dos palabras son "te quiero" o "te amo" porque desde que Belisa conoce al Coronel, tiene el deseo de tocarlo y por todo el cu...

The Latin American Boom was a literary phenomenon that happened during 1960-1970. This is a time when literary works like those of Julio Cortazar and Carlos Fuentes began to come out to the world. In a lot of Carlos Fuentes literary work he used many narratorios to show how complex a human mind of a person could be. In the book Filiberto imagines many things at once that ultimatley makes him nervous.Thus why he got fired from his job because of rumors that stated he was insane. He also cannot distinguish whats real vs unreal. Mexico in todays day is really arrogant and doesnt think of the consequences of his actions. In the end, I believe there is amiguiosity with real life. As seen in the other story that man had dreams but while he was still awake just like in this story. Ambos estan jugando con la realidad.

Cortazar hizo muchas inovaciones en el mundo literatura. Por ejemplo, su historia Rayuela tenia muchas instrucciones. Pudieran escoger las capitulos que querian leer y tambien pudieron escoger la historia o el cuento que querian. (como goosebumps) El accidente occurio en la calle. El estaba manejando en un motocicleta y no podia avoid a lady that was walking across the road. El primer sueno ocurrió cuando estaba en la ambulancia. El primer sueno tuvo muchos olores como puntero y un olor de guerra. El segundo sueno ocurrió encima de quicksand, también durante la noche. Diferente de los primeros dos sueños, en el último sueño, el protagonista se da cuenta de la realidad. Lo que él pensaba que estaba soñando con los aztecas no era un sueño, sino la realidad. El sueño era realmente cuando él estaba en el hospital por su accidente. La guerra florida era la práctica de los aztecas para conseguir víctimas y luego sacrificarlas a sus dioses. Gabriel Márquez es muy importante para la literatura de latino América. El introdujo un tipo de escritura visual del arte. También tuvo influencia en los escritores después del cambio en modo de las películas. El también fuera una persona alumbrada porque el hizo muchas cosas en Colombia a ayudarlos. Juan Rulfo had a huge contribution to the era of Latin American novels. He was compared to James Joyce because they both wrote in context and perspective of death. In my opinion the author is a man. I think this way because there's a lot of discussion about Tacha and cow. The cow was a present for the men who wanted to marry Tacha. There's also a lot of controversy over the two oldest sisters. I believe hes older than Tacha. I think their social status is that they are lower class, and maybe even the working class. They have some land but not a lot and back then that met how much money you had. Tacha means a blemish,flaw,defect or an imperfection. Jorge Luis Borges was considered one of the best writers during the 20th century because he developed a new type of writing which opened the door for more opportunities in the world. He was known as a "genre blender" since he would mix pieces of literature his with own unique work. A laberinto is a labyrinth which is a an intricate combination of paths or passages in which it is difficult to find one's way or to reach the exit. I believe that the labyrinths were important in Borges work because it would represent the existence of society, the connection of the catholic church like culture, the governor and the life of all Christians. Nicolas Guillen was heavily influenced by the Harlem renaissance. Specifically, Langston Hughes and his beautiful poetry. The Harlem Renaissance was an era that was profoundly looked at for cultural and artists such as Langston Hughes. Black writers, poets and musicians made the world sing and they made this time wonderful to live in. The era had a significant impact in the political views and life of Nicolas Guillen. He was a communist who later on fought in the Spanish Civil War for the loyalists. During his time upon returning to Cuba he was delt with a lot by the police because of his political views but also he was very outspoken on them which made for reason to be arrested. The themes that reoccurred in the poetry of Gabriela Mistral portrayed a lot of kiddish vibes. She was a school teacher which was acceptable for her to about things like that. Her sexuality was a huge controversy. Because of her job and how much she adored kids, there never was a man in her life which allowed for suspicion in society. She addressed the rumor in a single passage in a journal saying that it was very insulting towards her.  I don't think it matters if she is a lesbian or not. No matter what her poetry should be looked at like a blind file. The United States, Mexico’s northern neighbor, was significantly affected by the human dislocation that resulted: if someone did not want to fight, the only alternative was to leave the country—and over 890,000 Mexicans did just that by legally emigrating during the second decade of the 20th century. Horacio Quiroga was named Edgar Allan Poe of Latin America because of similarities that were sought between. He was known for his obsession over the dead and the violence not only in which occurred where he lived but he was interested in other places as well. Like Edgar Allen Poe, his jobs only resurfaced to soft tones and themes. Not only were they involved in the same theme but they were also one of the first writers of literature in that genre. In “El Conductor del rapido”, written by Horacio Quiroga from the years 1905-1925, 108 conductors have contracted or have been attacked with a mental disorder in which they couldn’t live out the rest of their lives. A “manicomio” was a place in which those with mental problems could be checked into for evaluation and severe mental help. Alfonsina Storni was very different form the other poets that wrote in the time or era she lived in while writing her amazing poetry. She was a poet originated from Argentina. A couple things that make her very different form the other poets were the choice and wording and language she used for her poems. She also wrote a lot on feminism and her works were very detailed about her opinion. In the poem "Hombre pequeñito" the canary in the poem represents women during that time era. The women of suffrage especially and the cage metaphorically represents the ideas of those men. In my eyes it represented metaphorically a locked up scenario in which the women would be forced to do things which in this sense be placed in the cage to basically be told what to do. In the poem "Peso ancestral" I believe the tu represented the men in society who weren't appropriated to show emotion, or could've also been those in the community who weren't able to do so....

Dario’s poetry is elaborate and very inspiring. It explains how exactly he contributed to the community in a way to inspire the youth. Also it states that his poetry resembled wholeness and gratitude. I honestly don’t know a lot about swans though I do know that they come from a religious background. They represent elegancy and birth and also have a majestic side as well. I believe that Dario in his poem uses the metaphor under the wing of a swan because of how popular the swan is used in the popular culture. It gives the poem more of an importance and helps the reader understand how much this should mean. José Martí era una poeta nacional de Cuba. Él era una figura importante para Cuba porque sus ideas ayudo unificar a Cuba. Martí está hablando de Cuba y que cantidad él está orgulloso a Cuba. “Nuestro América” es Cuba porque la cantidad de veces que empieza hablar de. Un problema con las universidades en Los Estados Unidos es que no hay una universidad de América. También las universidades ensenan el arte básica del gobierno. Rosas era un jefe del Partido Federal y también era gobernador de la provincia de Buenos Aires, Argentina. Los unitarios y los federales eran los dos partidos políticos en esa época. Los unitarios fueron personas que querían unidad en el país de Argentina y los federales quieran la autonomía del gobierno y la distribución de comercial con impuestos. Sor Juana era mexicana y una persona muy interesante. Ella empezó poemas cuando tenía diez años. Aprendió la gramática en veinte lecciones. Puedes dividir la literatura en hispanoamericana entre dos épocas. La primera era la época colonial (1600-1750) y el periodo de la ilustración y de los movimientos de independencia (1750-1825). El conceptismo y el culteranismo tienen muchas cosas similares y también diferentes. El conceptismo tiene literaria que profundiza en el sentido o concepto de las palabras; se puede definir como una agudeza mental que da preferencia a las ideas con el fin de impresionar la inteligencia o el deseo de decir mucho con pocas palabras. Lo que se de la literatura de Latinoamérica es que muchas novelas hablan sobre lo que está pasando políticamente. Por ejemplo “The Breif Wondrous Life of Oscar Wao” en este libro lo que paso en el pasado con el República Dominica y Haití era un tiempo difícil. El cuento dicta y explica la dificultad que tenían los que vivían allí. También en el pasado la gente que vivía durante esta etapa no podía escribir mucho de lo que estaba pasando por muchas razones. Una razón famosa era que no los echaron a la cárcel si hablan mal del gobernante en cualquier manera. Eso es porque no tenemos mucho sobre lo que paso, las personas no quieran que los echaran y yo entiendo eso. Como que paso en Cuba con Fidel Castro y como no se murió hace mucho tiempo yo creo que ahora la gente va a hablar mucho en que paso. No tengo mucha experiencia leyendo literatura en español. Pero lo que se es porque en la clase anterior de español leímos muchas novelas. Me encantan las novelas y los artículos que leímos en la clase de traducción. Un libro que me gusto mucho fue el libro "The Brief  Wondrous Life of Oscar Wao." Las esperanzas que tengo para esta clase, primero quiero escribir mejor y creo que haciendo esto me va a ayudar mucho en el futuro. También quiero que esta clase me enseñe palabras que no conozco. No tengo miedos en esta clase, quiero aprender mas sobre los países de Latino America por medio de su literatura.
