Alfonsina Storni
Alfonsina Storni was
very different form the other poets that wrote in the time or era she lived in
while writing her amazing poetry. She was a poet originated from Argentina. A
couple things that make her very different form the other poets were the choice
and wording and language she used for her poems. She also wrote a lot on feminism
and her works were very detailed about her opinion.
In the poem "Hombre
pequeñito" the canary in the poem represents women during that time era. The women of suffrage especially and the cage metaphorically represents the
ideas of those men. In my eyes it represented metaphorically a locked up scenario
in which the women would be forced to do things which in this sense be placed
in the cage to basically be told what to do.
In the poem "Peso
ancestral" I believe the tu represented the men in society who weren't appropriated to show emotion, or could've also been those in the community who weren't able to do so. The you in the poem represented the people that spoke about women and who was for them.
In the poem tears were mentioned a lot and were specifically mentioned as venom. I believe they were said to demonstrate or signify venom or something poisonous to show that its something you dont do or something bad and to stay away from it.
