Gabriela Mistral
The themes that reoccurred in the poetry of Gabriela Mistral portrayed a lot of kiddish vibes. She was a school teacher which was acceptable for her to about things like that. Her sexuality was a huge controversy. Because of her job and how much she adored kids, there never was a man in her life which allowed for suspicion in society. She addressed the rumor in a single passage in a journal saying that it was very insulting towards her. I don't think it matters if she is a lesbian or not. No matter what her poetry should be looked at like a blind file. We should all appreciate and love her poetry no matter what. The themes that I see in the poem "Meciendo" is about death and the live of a mother. Which can be categorized as a social norm without having the thought of a social preference.
